Making flying safer, easier, and more fun since 2002.

As pilots, we all recognize the many benefits that modern technology can provide. But we've also seen that technology is sometimes difficult to learn and hard to use; in other words, sometimes more trouble than it's worth.

Flight software that makes sense.

Seattle Avionics began in 2002 with the mission to make flying safer, easier, and more fun. While the products have dramatically evolved over the years, our commitment to that mission has never wavered.

FAA DO-200B Certified ChartData™

With the introduction of Apple’s iPad, we saw a chance to invest in the future of aviation by creating our ChartData brand of global, geo-referenced approach plates and airport diagrams. Today, ChartData includes plates and diagrams from more 160 countries and is used by more than 20 major aviation companies worldwide including Honeywell, Aspen, Dynon, and many more.

In 2024, Seattle Avionics became only the third company in the world to earn FAA DO-200B certification for our ChartData. This is only granted to companies that prove their dedication to quality, reliability, timeliness, and accuracy after an exhaustive and comprehensive certification process and audit.

FlyQ®

We created our top-rated iPad app, FlyQ+ EFB, when we saw a need for an affordable iPad app that made usability for General Aviation (GA) pilots its first priority.

Designed by Experienced Aviators

FlyQ was designed by a group of pilots and programmers who understood how to build technology to solve real-world aviation problems and close gaps for safer more efficient flying. FlyQ has developed over the years to include valuable features and tools, always with an eye to our founding mission to make flying safer, easier, and more fun.

Combining 60+ Years of Aviation Experience

Noticing Seattle Avionics long history of innovation and value to general aviation pilots, Aircraft Performance Group (APG) acquired Seattle Avionics, along with RocketRoute in 2020, combining three aviation leaders under the APG banner.

Using these new synergies, APG grew each product in the group and forged ahead with its commitment aviation performance and safety by creating iPreFlight Genesis PRO. This new integrated flight planning and performance tool combines the powerful offline iPreFlight Genesis Performance calculation engine with RocketRoute’s world-class flight planning service and global airport diagrams and instrument approach plates from Seattle Avionics.
